The Institute of Financial Planning is the professional body for those committed to the development of the multi-disciplinary profession of financial planning.
Its mission is to develop and promote the profession of financial planning to the general public and to those people involved in providing advice and guidance to their clients, in order to most effectively fulfill every client's financial and lifestyle objectives.
The Institute was founded in 1986. In 1995 the Institute earned the right to award the CFP® and Certified Financial Planner™ designations in the UK, by exclusive licence from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. in the United States.
